Mind Your Own Business

MARK 10:46 – 52

SCRIPTURE TEXT VERSE: 48 – And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

There are people who will make you think they know it all. Let them tell it they have been everywhere and done everything. You can’t mention anything that they haven’t seen or experienced. I have encountered them on numerous occasions. If you let them they would tell you what TV channel to watch. They would tell you what grocery store to shop at. They would tell you how many rooms you need in the house you are paying for. They would tell you about your spiritual walk even though you already have a church and a Pastor with vision. At times their advice is good just not always for you. When scripture instructs us to seek ye first the Kingdom of God and it’s righteousness it was not giving us direction to get and follow every bodies advice. As a matter of fact he said beloved believe not every spirit but try the spirit and see if it be of God.

Jericho was a popular resort city rebuilt by Herod the Great in the Judean desert, not far from the Jordan River crossing. Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem and after crossing over from Perea would naturally enter Jericho.

Beggars were a common sight in most towns. Since most occupations of that day required physical labor, anyone with a crippling disease or disability was at a severe disadvantage and was usually forced to beg, even though God’s laws in Leviticus commanded care for such needy people.

Blindness was considered a curse from God for sin.  The blind man when he heard it was Jesus of Nazareth began to cry out Jesus thou son of David, have mercy on me.

SCRIPTURE TEXT VERSE 48

When they began to tell him to hold his peace I imagine him in so many words saying PLEASE MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

Because scripture says he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

We should let this be a lesson to us that Jesus hears those who make an effort to get his attention. No matter who is telling you to be quiet. Tell them to MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

As I speak now somebody listening is in need of God’s help in your situation and others are saying to you God understands. Of course he does but his word made it clear Mattew 7:7 – Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

There are people pretending to care who really don’t care. They are in our inner circle whispering in our ears asking us to do things they won’t do themselves. Close your ears by saying MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. Believe it or not your health, your finance, your family, your mental health, your salvation hinges on who and what you listen to. Say it with an attitude MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. Let them know God and I got this.
